Jarryd Stanley - Seville, VIC

I am based in Seville, Victoria and have been riding pretty much my whole life, starting off sitting on my Mum's horse until I got my first Shetland pony. Ever since then horses and the sport of Eventing have been my passion.
After finishing school I went on to work at Wandin Riding Academy teaching lessons and schooling horses then studied Bachelor of Business at Swinburne University. I now work full time at Wandin Park/ Wandin Riding Academy. In 2015, I began designing cross country courses, doing 2 a year, now I'm designing and building around XC courses for EA, Pony Clubs & HRCAV.

My horse 'Spring into Action' (Springer) is a 17hh Chestnut Thoroughbred and is a 1 in a million! I mainly competed 2* with Springer, we did make the step up to 3* in 2019, however sustained an injury late 2019 which meant we had a year off competitions.

QUICK FACTS

• The first time I ever rode a horse was when…
  The first time I 'rode' a horse when I was only a couple months old when mum put me on her own horse and sat me up there.

• Other occupation or study outside of riding?
  I studied a Bachelor of Business Degree majoring in Management at Swinburn finished in 2016, I am also a Country Course Designer/Builder.

• If I never became a horse rider, I would probably…
  Honestly, no idea! Riding horses is all I have ever known! I was very sporty so probably would have got more involved in another sport.

• The biggest achievement of my career so far is…
  Completing my first and Springers first CCI3*-S in 2019

• A fun fact about me is that… 
  I have completed the Melbourne Marathon (42.195kms)
